Aikion

An energy management system we built, run and live with. It reads the site directly, plans the day against day-ahead prices, and controls battery and charger every two seconds.

Our own productAikion

We don't sell theory. We run an energy system of our own.

Aikion is Innomenta's energy management system. It reads inverters and meters directly, plans the day against day-ahead prices, and controls battery and charger in real time. What we learned keeping it running is what we bring to your projects.

  • Measure

Speaks Modbus TCP directly to Sungrow, Deye, Huawei and Fronius — and OCPP to the charger. No middlemen, no cloud latency.

  • Plan

A linear program weighs spot price, solar forecast, load forecast, battery limits and the power ceiling against each other and lays out a day schedule.

  • Control

Every two seconds the plan is compared with what the meter actually reads. When reality drifts, the plan is recomputed.

  • Run

Runs as a Homey app locally in the home and as a cloud service for history and optimization. Shipped continuously against live sites.

The loop5 s

Four steps that close on themselves

  1. Measure

    Read the site

Inverter, battery and meter are read over Modbus TCP. The charger over OCPP. All of it locally.

  2. Forecast

    Look ahead

Day-ahead prices, a physics-based solar forecast, and a load forecast built from the building's own history.

  3. Plan

    Lay the day schedule

A linear program picks when the battery charges, holds and discharges — under the power ceiling and above the reserve level.

  4. Act

    Send the setpoint

The plan becomes concrete commands to inverter and charger, with a watchdog that releases control if the controller goes quiet.

Step four returns to step one. The loop turns every two seconds, around the clock.

Facts

What is actually in the system

Inverters
Sungrow, Deye, Huawei and Fronius over Modbus TCP.
Charging
Garo GLB and OCPP 1.6 chargers, with power split between several cars.
Optimization
Linear optimization over 24 hours against day-ahead price, solar forecast and load forecast.
Control rate
5 seconds, with a watchdog that hands control back if the controller goes quiet.
Peak shaving
Holds the subscribed power ceiling, pre-charging ahead of known peaks.
Multiple inverters
Weighted state of charge and per-meter roles when a site has more than one inverter.
Runtime
Homey app locally plus a cloud service for history, optimization and alarms.
Languages
Swedish and English.

One conversation is enough to tell whether we're the right fit. If you already have data and a system that should get smarter, that's usually where we start.
